Another clean sheet

So into the Plate game and against another competitive team from the same section. The aim this game was to end stronger than we have done in latest games and ensure that we have the capability to change in the last quarter with an added punch.
The 1st qtr saw some end to end action with the team creating some chances and good moves forward. An early test at the back was dealt with again by the quick reactions of Harley to pull off a double save.
With the changes in the 2nd qtr, the screw was slowly turned with Noah continuing to break up the right and deliver a nice low cross across the goal. This was calmly met with a good right foot by Jamie who simply had to assist the ball at a right angle and quickly past the goalkeeper. One of the simplest goals we have scored but also one of the best worked.
Defensively we are very sound and the boys having to work those positions are doing a great job. Michael in his new lease of life to read the ball and nip out and Charlie continuing to play with a good period of confidence. Again we had numerous chances to lead further only for the ball to go wide by Noah, after a good ball in from Guy or slightly over from Noah to James, any of these going in would have been a real delight following the passage of play involved.
The 3rd qtr demonstrated some great run and pass football and on one occasion the link up of several players helped us move the ball all the way through the midfield and out right, only for the good opposition goalkeeper to spoil things. Again this type of run was constantly tried and the payoff was that James succeeded in getting more menacing each time he tried it.
With a run through the middle and working hard in turning players out towards the right, he turned back in and crossed deliberately to the edge of the box. There was the patiently lurking Wills who connected with the ball first time with a low hard shot which went through the parting defence and hit the back left of the net. You can often hear the sound of a good shot and this was one of them.
The 4th qtr, remained in our control and the planned changes helped ensure we saw out the game with plenty of energy.
Only 1 more game now until Christmas and ideally a good end to the half season.
