Woodley Tigers 1 Binfield Jets 3
Due to school commitments, half term and fixture list quirks, the month of October saw the Jets play just twice, the first being a tough away fixture at Woodley. With fine weather and a lovely surface to play on the Jets produced a stunning first half display. Mika was merely a spectator in goal as the Jets out-passed the opposition and created numerous chances. The first goal came after ten minutes following good work by Cameron and Aidan to set up Dylan who scored with a fine shot from the edge of the box. Five minutes later Dylan and Oskar combined to set up Eddie who scored with his left foot from fifteen yards. Many of the fine passing moves started from the back with Mark and Ellis and Woodley barely had a chance as the half ended with the Jets 2 – 0 in front.
Straight from kick off in the second half another great move involving Alex, Eddie and Aidan put Oskar in the clear but he was denied by the keeper and after this the Jets let the opposition back into the game. The second half was as frustrating to watch as the first half had been brilliant and we never really replicated the fine football of the first thirty minutes. It required some fine defending from Alex, Mark and Ellis along with a couple of good saves from Mika to protect our lead.
Eventually the third goal arrived courtesy of Aidan with ten minutes left but it was still a tense final five minutes when Woodley pulled a goal back as we piled forward in numbers leaving their centre forward unmarked.
The Woodley manager was very complimentary of the football we played in the first half and the challenge is to produce this over the whole match, but nonetheless a great three points against a good side.
Scorers: Dylan, Eddie, Aidan. MOM: Mark

Maidenhead Magpies 1 Binfield Jets 6
Another fine away win again with this time the Jets producing a battling first half display followed by some brilliant football in the second half. With the recently cut grass being left on the pitch taking the pace off the ball, it took us a while to get our passing game going and we were put under a fair amount of pressure by Maidenhead who forced a number of corners, which we defended very well. Solid defending from Mark and Ellis meant that the opposition were limited to shooting from long range and Mika dealt comfortably with them. Midway through the half a fantastic, forty yard run from Alex created a chance for Aidan who made no mistake from about six yards, one nil to the Jets at half time.
For the second week running, straight from kick off, a number of one twos from Eddie, Cameron and Aidan saw us with a clear sight of goal but again the keeper saved and not long after Maidenhead deservedly equalised.
Almost immediately a fine free kick from Ellis brought about a slightly fortuitous second goal from Aidan and this seemed to stir us into action because for the last twenty minutes it was one way traffic as the Jets added a further four goals. The third goal was probably the pick, with Oskar threading a great ball through to Dylan who rounded the keeper in fine style to finish. A defence splitting pass from Eddie put Dylan in again for the fourth and his second, and fine passing moves were then finished by Cameron and Aidan (his hat trick) to complete the scoring.
Scorers: Aidan 3, Dylan 2, Cameron. MOM: Dylan
SEPTEMBER REVIEW
Pinewood Pumas 3 Binfield Jets 2
The 2011/2012 season kicked off with a tough match away at Pinewood and the squad showed just one change from last season, Joel being replaced by Dylan. Despite playing some good football going forward, we did not defend well enough as a team and we found ourselves two down at half time, with Mika also making a couple of fine saves to prevent us falling further behind. The second half was fairly even with both goalies busy, one save in particular from Mika was fantastic, but Pinewood scored the vital third goal. The Jets rallied in the last five minutes with goals from Eddie and a superb header from Cameron. Dylan hit the post with just seconds remaining, although a point might just have flattered us.
Scorers: Eddie, Cameron. MOM: Mika
A much better all round performance saw us collect three points for the first time this season. Defensively the Jets were much tighter with Mark and Ellis having fine games. The midfield, particularly Oskar who played with a lot more confidence this week, were dominant throughout and we created enough chances to have scored more goals. Our link up play going forward, with Aidan and Cameron both showing up well, was pleasing to watch but just occasionally our final ball was wayward and wrong options taken when in front of goal. A goal in each half, a great header by Aidan from Dylan’s fine cross and a shot by Dylan, were enough to seal the points.
Scorers: Aidan, Dylan. MOM: Oskar
Mark and Aidan were missing for what turned out to be an excellent football match with both sides contributing, so Nat made his first appearance of the season, and a very composed performance it was too. Once again we found ourselves two goals down in a match after about twenty minutes due to a bit of naive defending. A twenty yard screamer from Eddie pulled us back into the match and then a fine move starting with Mika led to Alex equalising. However we conceded a third almost straight away to go in at half time 3-2 down. The second was a different story as we completely dominated playing some fantastic one and two touch football. Eddie, Oskar and Ellis bossed the midfield and both Dylan and Alex were causing numerous problems with their pace and trickery down the right. Dylan equalised with a terrific shot and then set up Cameron for the fourth. Alex completed the scoring and duly took the man of the match honours, although not far behind were Ellis and Dylan.
Scorers: Alex 2, Eddie, Cameron, Dylan. MOM: Alex
