Once again Binfield returned to Hill Farm Lane for a Saturday fixture & again failed to take the three points required despite putting in a good second half performance after the very tough ask of playing four games in seven days ,
The game started very slowly with not much quality to speak of but on 15 mins Highworth could have taken the lead through Dan Hilder after a defensive mistake by Jamil. But a great stop by Weait point blank kept it goalless. Binfield did have a couple of half chances but Highworth took the lead on 30 mins after great work from Josh Parsons on the right who squared for Hilder who had an easy task of slotting home to make it 1-0 to Highworth
Binfield did have chances , Gary Sargeant shot just wide after good link play with Danny Wing & Carl Davies missed a couple of chances one after a defensive mistake the other after great link play with Sargeant. Then lo and behold Highworth broke away & won a penalty on the stroke of half time. Parsons was brought down by Weait & Parsons cheekily converted 2-0 at the break.
The second half saw Highworth happy to concede possession to Binfield who huffed & puffed but just couldn't get any luck in or around the box to get back into the game. Once again 2 of the Allied counties lads came on in Jake Butler (60) & Jordan Rowland (75) but not in familiar positions in replacing Jos Millar & Carl Davies respectively. Unfortunately for Binfield it ended with another home defeat
On Tuesday the Moles must be positive & move on with another quarter final home game against Rayners Lane which will be another tough ask but for success this season it is all down to the cup competitions with another cup semi final place to fight for
