Dan Weait was the hero as the Moles clinched a second cup final place in the last 6 days, after an epic battle with Holyport.

After saving a penalty midway through the first half to prevent his side going two behind, Weait then saved another vital spot kick in the shoot out, before scoring the Moles 6th kick himself. Watching Holyport's 8th kick hit the bar to send his side through will have been especially satisfying for Weait, in a season when he has already excelled - and played every minute of every match so far.

This was one of those matches that neither side really deserved to lose. Both sides had the lead more than once, but a late equaliser in normal time for Holyport took the game into injury time, when they perhaps should have won it in a good second half performance.

But after falling a goal down again early in extra time, the Moles piled on the pressure and should probably have had more to show than Ian Davies late equaliser that set up penalties.

For the Moles, JP Jamil, Danny Wing, Carl Withers and Callum Whitty all slotted home, with Weait saving Holyport's second kick. Carl Davies then had the agony of seeing Wayne Carter save what would have been the winning fifth kick for the Moles, so the shoot out continued into sudden death when Port scored their fifth.

Dan Weait then grabbed the ball and blasted the Moles 6th, before 17 year old Jake Butler showed maturity beyond his years to send Carter the wrong way. With Holyport matching the Moles kick for kick, Paul Shone stepped up and blasted Binfield ahead at 7-6. So when Holyport's 8th kick hit the bar, the Moles could celebrate.

Binfield progress to meet Abingdon Town in the final on Tuesday 17th April, at a venue to be confirmed.
