Bracknell Town 3 Binfield 1
Exit in the League Cup for The Moles
It was farewell to another cup competition again, this time at the hands of Bracknell Town. Being hit by players that are injured or cup-tied forced Roger's hand to bring in two new faces, Joel Driscoll from Marlow and Daniel Williamson from Fleet. Selection proved a challenge on other fronts as the Reserves were playing Maidenhead United at the same time and a couple of the lads were involved in the English Schools Cup Final.
This was the fourth of five meetings between the two sides this season and there will be at least one more match in the Berks & Bucks County Cup Final at Windsor in April to come.
The game started brightly with no side getting an obvious upper hand with neither goalkeeper being asked to do too much. There was a dampener on the proceedings as Michael Walton had to leave the field injured in the first 15 minutes and was replaced by Ben Cook, who went on to perform well in a midfield that was frenetic all night.
TJ Bohane opened the scoring before half time before Liam Ferdinand levelled things after the break, which triggered a good spell for Binfield but the Bracknell keeper was rarely troubled.
Adam Cornell and Bohane scored goals two and three towards the end of the game to progress into the semi-finals
