| In a scrappy game, the visitors secured their second 2-0 win of the year at the Racecourse but puffed as much as the wind to get it. The early kick-off and blustery conditions gave the game a Sunday morning feel in the first half. |

Both sides had players missing but that was no excuse for the poor play.
Ascot had more chances than Binfield in the first half but Martin Hutt in the Binfield goal was never called into action. |
| Tim Walsh should have done better for the Moles when he broke free on the right and Danny Wing failed to test the keeper from the edge of the area mid way through the half. Withers and Partridge took time to get control of midfield but Kris Day on the right was a threat from the off. |

Ascot United curiously went into a warm up routine at half time and did not return to their dressing room. More shades of Sunday football but the break and the shelter gave Binfield a fresh impetus in the second half and they finally started to take control. |
| Gary Callaway, still very much a Binfield player, despite reports linking him to Sandhurst, played with conviction and control setting up a number of Binfield attacks. Callum Whitty battled as ever, with Tim Walsh in close support, but it wasn’t until the introduction of two substitutes, as extra time threatened, that Binfield took hold of the game completely. |

Wing and Withers (injured) were replaced by Milward and Calvert. With the veteran striker now partnering Walsh and Whitty tucked in behind them, the chances started to emerge and within the space of five minutes Calvert had converted two of them. |
